I know, Star Wars again, but I just couldn’t resist posting about these. Chicago-based Justin Van Genderen designer came up with these minimalist takes on the planets and star systems that feature in the films. I love the washed out colours and the aged effect used here to give the designs a retro feel.
These are ‘re-imagined’ posters of the original Star Wars Trilogy by Olly Moss and they are very cool… if you like that sort of thing.
While I was listening to The Suburbs by Aracde Fire (highly recommended), I was reminded of these gig posters by Burlesque of North America that I had seen a while ago so I thought I’d post some of them. The subject matter is really interesting but I think it’s the bright, vivid colour palettes that really bring the designs together.

Film The Blanks is an ongoing project to abstract movie posters to the very basic essence of their original designs. What’s great about them is that they look great plus fun to try and decipher what films they are from. Have a go yourself over at the website and see how many you can get.
